It
has been said by marketers across the internet that the biggest
problem for ANYONE advertising by email is that almost no one believes
anything they read anymore, unless it's from people or brands they
know and trust. So many email messages today offer the moon, for little or no work, effort or money, that good people just turn off their brains, and delete the messages.
Spam (unsolicited) messages are usually the worst, because they're both an unexpected intrusion AND totally unbelievable and full of hype.
Now What?
You have a good business opportunity or top quality products or services.
How do you send an email message:
1) to people who are open to receiving info about what you might have in common, and how do you
2) write it in a way that makes it intriguing to the recipient. So that instead of deleting it, they ask you for more information.
How do you do that?
First dictate of effective email marketing:
Create a Series of messages, like epidsodes in a TV Series (Think Sopranos) each one getting into it a little bit more.
Why a series? Effective Email Marketing is like dating. Getting to know each other takes more than one date, does it not? Who really wants to be thought of as a one email stand?
Right. No one wants
to think they're that easy. And if they are, how good do you think
they'll be? How long will they last?
When you or anyone else receives an email, what do the little voices in the brain whisper as you read it?
'What's this about?
Oh, OK. Do I care about this or not? Yeah. But can I believe/trust
this? Do they sound real? Do they really know anything or are they
just trying to sell me something? Oh, looks like maybe they do have
something I'd like to see...hmmm. Well let me look (click)'
If this happens when people read your first message, you've just scored big: you've gotten the best you could hope for on your first email date: their ATTENTION. Just like that first look, and then, smile. Now, they'd like to go to the next step and see more. What should that be? So you don't lose them now?
That's what we'll show you how to do, for your business and product/service line.
Knock on open doors
Before I show you
how to create that series of messages that is right for your prospective
audience, first make sure you're knocking on an open door.
ONLY email those
who have asked to receive information about the kinds of things that
interest both of you. E.g. Health, parenting, home based businesses,
etc. Spamming is for low-enders, who don't know any better, and who
are willing to be thrown off the net by angry recipients of unsolicited
hypey email.
Go first class. Approach those who have already said: I'd like to hear about these kinds of topics and would like to receive info and how to info on these kinds of things. So where are those people on the internet?
Finding Open Minded People
One place to find
people to whom to email is to get to 'opt-in' lists.
Those are lists where people have subscribed because they're interested in the topic. Everything from sports, parenting, home based businesses to backpacking.
Those are lists where people have subscribed because they're interested in the topic. Everything from sports, parenting, home based businesses to backpacking.
You can sign up for any of these lists, and rent the names to send
your emails to, as well. So, now that you have at least one source
for open minded people (there will be more posted), how do you compose
a message that doesn't get dumped? Click here
